February 12, 2026: True Stories Night

Intimate, poignant, daring, funny, vulnerable — and 100% true. True Stories Night is live storytelling hosted by Shane Callaghan, featuring four storytellers sharing real stories on the theme “Change.” Each teller has 10 minutes.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event — often described as a cross between documentary and theatre — creating an intimate, surprising, and sometimes enlightening experience for both audience and tellers.

Theme: Change

🎤 Host: Shane Callaghan
Bio: Shane Callaghan is a stand-up comedian from Ireland who has been living in Slovakia for four years. He has toured across Europe with his solo comedy shows and has appeared on national radio and television in several countries, including the BBC. Shane loves storytelling because it’s an accessible art form open to everyone — and, at its best, it reminds us we’re not as different or as alone as we think. As host, he enjoys finding the thread that connects each story and embracing the unexpected along the way.

Storytellers:

🎤 Hon Chong
Bio: Hon Chong is an actor, improviser, theatre director, and teaching artist. He is the Artistic Director of Funnylicious Theater in Bratislava, and the founder of ISAC and Story Nights — a grassroots storytelling project.
Originally from Malaysia, Hon has lived in the USA and now calls Bratislava home, where he has spent the longest chapter of his life. He launched the first True Stories Night in Bratislava back in 2015, and has been creating shows and various performances and show formats ever since

🎤 Zuzana Ambrozova
Bio: Zuzana Ambrozová keeps reinventing herself in theory. In practice, she keeps learning the same lesson again and again — just in new ways.
She’s a stand-up comedian who performs at events and open mics in Bratislava, in both Slovak and English.
And yes: she talks about those repeated lessons on stage. Please lower your expectations accordingly.

🎤 Sam Grenville Bennetts
Bio: Sam Bennetts is a Cornishman, born in 1987. Over the years he’s been a sailor, coffee shop proprietor, innkeeper, publisher, art dealer, activist, writer, poet, lecturer, and teacher.
He’s been everywhere, seen everything, and learned nothing — except the full extent of his own ignorance. Along the way, he’s met the best and worst of humanity and gained a deep appreciation for the infinite variety of human idiocy.

🎤 John Fagan
Bio: John Fagan trained at East 15 Acting School in London. He directed MOLL for Cultúr Slovensko and was co-artistic director of Bold as Bard Theatre Company in Coventry for three years. As an actor, his theatre credits include Animal Farm (American Drama Group Munich), Hya Dolly! (Andy Jordan Productions, Edinburgh Festival), The King’s Speech (Birmingham Rep and UK Tour), and productions with Welsh National Opera. His screen credits include The More You Ignore Me (Genesius Pictures) and Assassins: Paid to Kill (TV3, Ireland).
